Gardening Question katie unknown tree or bush When I lived in Houma,Louisiana my grandmother had a tree or big bush in her yard and it produced a flower that was shaped like a miniature banana and smelled heavenly. I have't been able to find out the name of it, no one seems to know. Can you help me out? It ain't the Citronella - doesn't smell that good. If it looks like a PEELED mini banana, then it has to be a type of honeysuckle. I've got a couple next to my house. Help with a flower Could somebody help me ID a plant? It has a long stem and the flowers gather at the top (there are about 50+ pods). The three bottom pods have opened up to reveal flowers that are very much like lillies in appearance. They are a light green colour. I am happy to accept it is a lillie, except that it is a single stem, with no leaves across the stem, and the number of pods for flowers is huge, something I have never seen on a lilly before.
