Excellent website. Basic translation of some info (as it is in Spanish):

Eats leaves and young shoots, but adapted to pine when it ran out of original food. The greater damage will be on the outer edges of the tree moving in to the centre, where the damage is less extensive. The spiney caterpillar prefers younger trees. Eggs are about 2mm (the width of 2 dimes) and they lay about 150-300 in ringa around the twigs, branches or trunk.the new0born larvae are about 1 8th inch long.the young larvae are more orangy and less hairy than the mature ones. the pupae is a blackish-brown hairless oval, about 1 8 - 1 4 inch in diameter at widest part. Spiney caterpillar life cycles are annual, unless the waether is dry and have "favorable temperatures". the adult butterfly is short-bodied and the over all color is yellow tan brown for males and reddish orange brown for females. the females are bigger and have larger wings.
