Dutch Elm Disease is passed from one elm to another by a bark beetle.
This disease kills many elm trees, including American Elms, Rock Elms and White Elms.
Identification: wilting leaves that turn yellow or brown, sometimes hanging on the tree over winter. Cut out a section of a branch if you see brown stains in the wood, it could be infected with Dutch Elm Disease.
