Amanita Family

Started with one last year. Neighbor warned it could be an Amanita (Destroying Angel). This year in early July, 3-4 popped up (Picture of opened mushrooom and mushroom with hand to show size. Now (August 1) nine more have popped up. (some hiding in Hosta). Does this look like an Amanita or does anyone have any other ideas? They are very beautiful, but I am worried about our pets and daughter. If they are poisonous how do we stop them from taking over? Thanks!

Destroying Angel?????
Here is a cross section of the poor devil. No volva at the stalk base—that\'s a good sign right?.

Destroying Angel?????
Okay, found two more under a large Hosta, so...here is the underside showing the gills.

That looks like it could be an Amanita cokeri.
The Death Cap (Amanita phalloides), and the Destroying Angels (Amanita virosa,Amanita verna etc) usually have very few of the "warts" on the cap. Could you show pictures of the base, the gills (under the umbrella)and if you're into it, a dissection from top to bottom.
It should be growing in pine chips, it should have white spores, it shouldn't have a distinct smell.
Disclaimer: Don't eat them. :)
