the ones i saw the other day, seem to have gone missing. after some vigorous searching, i managed to spot 2 more, but they were both partially eaten so the gills were for the most part gone.

Can you get a picture of the gills, stem and base? If there is more than one of the mushrooms, you can also take a spore print by cutting a cap off, laying it on a peice of paper, and letting it sit for about a half hour. If you take a picture of the spore print left behind, this will help in identification.
Also you cut the mushroom in two from top to bottom, right up the length of the stem, this will make two angel-like halves, a picture of this would also help in identification.

about a 3-4 inch cap btw.

i was walking through a small park in north western WA. Plenty of Doug Fir, and cedar around, as well as a few of these guys scattered about. Any ideas?
