Thought it was plastic when we approached it, then realized it was some kind of fungi. Pretty strange looking! Have not been able to identify it. |

found this while walking along in the "woods" (not really woods but lots of trees). It is really humid in the area and the fungi looks like little red cups. |

It's just found in the soil after rain, not the yard, but a clump on the side. I live in Northern California. Might be native or not, its right next to our compost pile. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) Please and Thank you. |

Cut down an old tree that started out as a sapling, the sapling was a 'farewell gift' from my grandfather when he left the hospital. We never identified the tree, and eventually cut it down because it was high matenaince. The fungus stared to grow, its small orange clusters that are BRIGHT orange. I live in Northern California, but the tree might not be native. Can someone help identify it? Please and many thanks. :) |

Mushroom found in dirt after period of lots of rain. Measures 6cm from earth to cap top, cap has diameter of 5.5cm is irregular in shape, cap is smooth and dry, gills had a thin "floor" obscuring them, gills are a light pink. Smells like a mushroom. Appears to be common to the area. Can I eat this? -Josh |

No idea what these are! I've spent 2 hours looking through my mushroom book and on the internet, but have given up! head is about the size of a 1p coin, Other half says they're quite dark underneath but the gills are white? |

We believe this might be a "Clathrus columnatus" type fungus but are not sure and would like confirmation from an expert--- long, red, claw-like growths in a raised cutting garden after long amounts of rainfall in Connecticut, USA. |

I found these two mushrooms and cant identify them, i looked everywhere! they seem to be very similar, except for the color, one is more red and the other is almost black/blue. please help! they are about 2-3cm tall, i noticed they are a bit wet on top but it could've been due to humidity, however, i didnt see it on any other plants/fungus. one of them is very red at the middle of the cap and then turns orange towards the ends. the darker one is almost blue, and also fades out into a lighter col |

I found this strange/awesome mushroom under my house 6 years ago. I don't know how long it was there before i moved in. Sadly it got knocked over recently. Its a foot long, the cap is 5-6 inchs, its dark purple, and its hard/firm. The surface is smooth. I thought it might be Ganoderma lucidum because its the closest thing i could find to resemble it. |
