This one is classified as edible. I have heard, however, that it doesn't taste all that great. |

Don't know if it is a mushroom - like an orange tube with a brown rounded tip, 5 inches long. |

Started with one last year. Neighbor warned it could be an Amanita (Destroying Angel). This year in early July, 3-4 popped up (Picture of opened mushrooom and mushroom with hand to show size. Now (August 1) nine more have popped up. (some hiding in Hosta). Does this look like an Amanita or does anyone have any other ideas? They are very beautiful, but I am worried about our pets and daughter. If they are poisonous how do we stop them from taking over? Thanks! |

According to what I have read this is commonly called the Hemlock Varnish Mushroom. It is of the Reishi family and evidently has medicinal qualities. http://mushroom-collecting.com/mushroomreishi.html |

Extremely large and heavy cap, very meaty and leathery looking. Areas that looked slimy. Burnt orangey red color. Would love to get any help in identifying it! |

I think its Amanita Muscaria Var.Formosa but I want someones opinion. The cap is yellow with white spots, stipe has a veil and gets kinda wolly until it gets down to the volva. Can't get a spore print because it has already deposited the spores. Any help would nice. If some one could comfirm my find please comment. |
