:) You do know your moss. I have a few varieties, but none with that type of 'rosebud' sedum look. I'll keep looking - I am curious now. :)

Moss doesn't have flowers, it doesn't make seeds or spores. Instead, it reproduces with spermatozoa that swim through water to fertilize eggs on other plants. It is very primitive.
The moss basically looks like that throughout the year, even under the snow.
This picture was taken in May. The image is a closeup, a penny would fit snugly in it.
