General Information

The Dahlia is a genus of bushy, tuberous, perennial plants native to Mexico, Central America, and Colombia. There are at least 36 species of dahlia. Dahlia hybrids are commonly grown as garden plants. The Aztecs gathered and cultivated the dahlia for food, ceremony, as well as decorative purposes.

The dahlia plant can range in size from 1 foot to more than 8 feet and can produce flowers that can be as small as 2 inches or as big as 12 inches.
