General Information

I thought it was a tomato at first, but now I don't know. It came up in a whiskey barrel where I used to have a tomato. I planted a lemon tree and strawberries with compost. These plants came up between the strawberries. I transplanted it when it was smaller (thinking it was a tomato). Is it a weed or something useful?

I would think this would be a potato.

This looks like it could be Eastern black nightshade, based on the URL I provided below. If so, all vegetative parts of the plant are poisonous. I have this or something similar popping up all over my raised bed garden, many sprouting out of last year's buried potatoes.

It doesn't look like any weed that I know. Could you get a closeup of the stems?
