Planted \"flower mixture\" last fall and these have filled the bed. We have weeds that have very similar leaves and plant structure. Is this a flower or a weed?

Yes, individual stalks. Now there are others blooming and one is deep red, another is white with pink, and of course the purple one.

Yes, that seems logical. Now I can tell my husband to leave the "flower" bed alone and plant his sunflowers somewhere else! =) Thank you Gardengeek!
