It was found in Georgia (west Georgia, mountains), Caucasus.

Unfortunately I can't get anymore pictures, since I'm not on the location at present. I will only be able to send you new ones in summer.

I'd say it's a type of sea holly.

It looks like a cross between a thistle and nut grass in shape but it's blue! I don't think I have ever seen anything like it before.

Where was it found?

Can you get any more pictures?

It's hard to tell without a closeup, but it looks like a member of the Asteraceae family.
