General Information

Tall stalks are purplish with many branches and flowers are often a combo of reds, oranges and purples. Today I noticed pods on one of the branches.

My first thought is that it is a kangaroo paw. It is hard to tell without a better quality picture though.

Clumps of strappy usually dark green leaves surrounding flowers stems which can grow over a meter tall on which grow a line of fuzzy buds which split open and curl back into claw shaped petals?

I have seen many deep red flowered varieties a few bright red orange types a couple yellow ones. My mother even grows some with hot pink flowers!

Could you upload a few close-ups of the flowers and images of the whole plant? There are many plants with pods like that. It's best if they are 500 pixels wide or so.
