Location

Full sun, southern Louisiana flower bed.

Physical Description
4' tall stalk with large, slender leaves a numerous blooms from a cone-like flower pod/base.(bromeliad)



General Information

Please help identify!!! I am fairly sure it's in the bromeliad family.

Unidentified bloom. Probably a bromeliad. Small white blooms eminating from a pod-like base. Large medium green leaves growing from 4\\\\\\\' stalk.

Here are some better images I believe. I will try to dissect. My main problem is the plant in question belongs to my mother who is 150 or so miles away. A dear friend gave it to her & she is trying to identify(name) it. I should be near the plant in the next week or so. You are an extremely kind individual to attempt to help.

I suspect it might be from a different family.
Could you upload 500 pixel image?

I'll do my best to track it down if I can clearly see the flower parts.
Maybe dissect the flower and take clear images of the flower parts, then you can use the Tree of Life to track it down by looking at the similar families. I'll help you.

Here's two additional pics. Thanks for the awesome try but, I think it's not quite correct. There is a cone-like pod that the blooms are attached to and the leaves are a bit wider than ginger. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

It looks like Red Ginger, but it's hard to see... Is there any way you could upload a large close-up?
