General Information

This mutantly large rose is in my sister in-laws garden. My phone pictures do not do it justice. It stands alone, and takes no crap from anyone. Named after the great Abraham Lincoln of course.

The Mister Lincoln is a large flowered (hybrid tea) bush rose introduced in 1964. This tall red rose is renowned for its strong fragrance. In still air it can be detected up to 10 feet away and its deep, uniform red color. It grows to about 1.2 meters high and 1 meter across. The leaves are matt dark green. The buds are deep red and open up into large, velvety red, double blossoms. It has typically around 30 to 35 petals per flower. It is a vigorous plant that performs well in all climates.

I planted Mister Lincoln in my front court yard several months ago. It is blooming now and has two buds to follow soon. How far back do I cut to bring the blooming rose in the house? It has a long stem.
