I found these growing in thin wooded areas in southern Missouri; in rocky, semi-moist soil. They are not growing in bunches. They are scattered about.
This plant has little white, open face flowers. They resemble a pout-like look on a bell shape flower. There is a little bit of purple inside the flower. The leaves are adjacent from each other as they go up the single stem. They also get smaller as they go up. If any one can help identify these and if you could include the common name? As I am new at this.
