Symphytum Genus

Location

growing in a perennial bed at a house I recently purchased

Physical Description
the plant is furry/fuzzy kind of like a stachys-type plant; rubbing the plant makes my skin itch slightly, even the stems have hairs on them; stems all originate at the base of the plant and grow over 3-feet long/tall; the leaves are rounded at the end where they come from the stem and pointy at the other end; it get clusters of bell-like light purple flowers which hang down like a bell; seem to not have any real scent to the flower the flowers are about 1/2-inch long and 1/4-in diameter at the end of the bell; bloomed heavily in the spring - now gets a cluster every once in a while

Yes, it does indeed look like Russian Comfrey, which is great for a garden, as it helps fertilize by bringing minerals up from deep underground.

Could you get a close up of the flower? Looks like a member of the Borage family.
