At first glance, these flowers look like asters, but they aren't, they are in a different Order altogether, the Dipsacales. If you look closely, you can see the little florets are quite different than that of an aster (Sunflowers, Daisies, etc). Pincushion Flower

Purple Morning Glory, 'Star of Yelta'
Purple Morning Glory, 'Star of Yelta' September 11, 2009
The seeds of many species of morning glory contain ergot alkaloids such as the hallucinogenic ergonovine and ergine (LSA). Seeds of I. tricolor and I. corymbosa (syn. R. corymbosa) are used as psychedelics. The seeds can produce a similar effect to LSD when taken in the hundreds. Though the chemical LSA is illegal to possess in pure form, the seeds are found in many gardening stores; however, the seeds from commercial sources are often coated in some form of pesticide or methylmercury to r Purple Morning Glory, 'Star of Yelta'

Geranium pratense The cultivar name of this hardy geranium is 'Gerwat', but it is sold under the trade designation Geranium Rozanne. Propagation is by semi-ripe cuttings in summer, by seed, or by division in autumn or spring. The name "cranesbill" derives from the appearance of the fruit capsule of some of the species.
