Monstera deliciosa
  Monstera deliciosa March 02, 2014
edible fruit. a fruity taste similar to jackfruit and pineapple. The unripe green fruits can irritate the throat and the latex of the leaves and vines can create rashes in the skin, because both contain potassium oxalate: that is the reason why the fruits have to be consumed when the scales lift up. The fruit may be ripened by cutting it when the first scales begin to lift up and it begins to exude a pungent odor. It is wrapped in a paper bag and set aside until the scales begin popping off. Extremely rich in vitamin C, also contains vitamins A, B1, B2, and B3, as well as carotenoids and bioflavonoids, and has antioxidant uses. Cannot endure temperatures lower than 30°F. Because of its shallow roots, it has very low tolerance to winds Among the 11 fruits' pulps tested, acerola had the most antioxidant potency. Acerola

  bigberry manzanita December 05, 2012
This plant is small tree or shrub usually around waist to shoulder hight but can grow as tall 25 feet, with small gray/green leaves with waxy like coating. a very unique characteristic of this plant is its deep red bark (that some rodents cant get enough of), it is a beautiful plant thats bark has a wonderful smooth feeling. some native american tribes used this plant as a dried snack, and the cut the apical meristem of this plant along with the fruit and flower and made a nice tea like dr bigberry manzanita

Grass Tree
  Grass Tree May 19, 2012
The Aboriginal people of Australia had a range of uses of the Grass Tree. The tall flower stem was used as a lightweight spear for fishing etc. Flowers can be dunked into water to produce a sweet drink. The white base of the leaves can be eaten and have a rather bland sweetish-starch taste. [[]]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanthorrhoea[[]] Grass Tree
